Primerjava Nikkor AF-S 16-35mm f/4 z Nikkor AF-S 24-70mm f/2.8

Objektiv 16-35mm f/4 najbolje riše okoli f/8. Nad f/16 pa je zaris opazno bolj mehak. V primerjavi z 24-70mm f/2.8 pri goriščnicah 24 in 35mm in bolj oddaljenem objektu ni večjih opaznih razlik. 16-35mm f/4 deluje še celo malo boljše pri f/11 in f/16, kar lahko izkoristimo pri krajinski fotografiji, oziroma tam kjer lahko zapremo zaslonko in imamo veliko svetlobe. Na robovih je prav tako dobra ostrina, predvsem pa ni opaziti kromatske aberacije (zamika barv).

Nikon D3x, zgoraj 16-35mm, spodaj 24-70mm, oba na 24mm, bližnji motiv 40cm. Zaslonke f/4, f8, f/11.

Objektiv 24-70mm f/2.8G pri krajši razdalji in goriščnicah 24 in 35mm opazno bolje riše. Še bolj je opazna razlika zapisa pri f/4 in f/8.

 


Primerjava Nikkor AF-S 16-35mm f/4 z Nikkor AF-S 24-70mm f/2.8 na kameri "crop" formata Nikon D300s

Objektiv je narejen za uporabo na polnoformatnih kamerah (FX), kot D3s, D3x in D700. Seveda pa ga je možno uporabiti tudi na kamerah z manjšimi tipali (DX), imenovanimi tudi "crop" kamere kot, D300s, D90...
V tem primeru se del zarisane slike objektiva ne zapiše na manjše tipalo in kot zajema je enak, kot bi na kameri polnega formata uporabljali objektiv z goriščnicami od 24 do 52,5mm.

Tudi na kameri z 1,5x manjšim tipalom in s tem zarisom slike bolj iz centra objektiva je opazno, da je optična kakovost pri f/4 slabša kot pri f/5.6, f/8 ali f/11. Pri 35mm nam visoko kakovost zapisa nudi samo razmerje med f/5.6 in f/11.
